I believe that Jesus answers prayers. It is the central theme of my book, "Broken Souls." Specifically I relate two experiences in my own life where I prayed deeply to God: when my brother was critically ill ("A Praayer for Lee") and when I was diagnosed with cancer ("Surgery Pending").
That's why I believe that God answered the prayers of the woman who called out his name repeatedly in the midst of the Joplin tornado that engulfed her and her family. With the talents that God has given me I created several YouTube videos on this topic. One viewer commented in what seemed a cynical tone that "I guess the other people who died did not pray hard enough."
I don't claim to understand God and his ways. But I do understand based on my own personal experiences with life and death circumstances that my prayers to God were answered in times of my greatest need.
